The Cuban
If you're in the mood for some authentic Cuban cuisine with a trendy and casual ambiance, look no further than "The Cuban". Located at 95 W Main St in Patchogue, NY, this restaurant offers a wide range of Cuban tapas and small plates in addition to a full bar and live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
As a food reviewer of Restaurant World, I had the pleasure of dining at The Cuban and exploring their extensive menu. From traditional Cuban appetizers like Croquetas Cubanas and Chorizo en Salsa Criolla to seafood delights like Gambas al Ajillo and Pealla Marinera, there is something for everyone. The flavors were bold, the presentation was exquisite, and the portion sizes were generous.
One standout dish that I highly recommend is the Pulpo a la Parrilla. The Spanish octopus was perfectly grilled and paired beautifully with fresh vegetables and a tangy balsamic dressing. The combination of flavors was simply divine.
Another highlight was the Ropa Vieja, a slow-braised flank steak that melted in my mouth with every bite. The dish was served with white rice and black beans, staying true to its Cuban roots.
To end the meal on a sweet note, don't miss out on their dessert options like Tostones and Maduros, which were the perfect balance of savory and sweet.
In conclusion, The Cuban exceeded my expectations with its flavorful dishes, welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch service. Whether you're looking for a casual dinner spot or a place to celebrate a special occasion, The Cuban is a must-visit for any food enthusiast. Make sure to stop by and experience the flavors of Cuba right here in Patchogue.

The pictures attached to this review are from all of my experiences at The Cuban. All of my visits here have been great. This particular review is based on my fourth time dining here; I have been for both lunch and dinner during evening entertainment. The food has always been good, and the hospitality is excellent. Recently, I came to this restaurant because there was a longer wait at Buttermilk Kitchen, and I was already on the verge of being hangry. I knew The Cuban was open and mostly empty. We waited about three minutes before someone welcomed us and brought us to our seats. I usually order the churrasco, but I decided to try something new this time. They started us off with bread, which is absolutely delicious (I'm obsessed with it). We also ordered chicken and beef empanadas as our starter. I had a piña colada, which was also very tasty. For our entrees, my mom tried the oxtail, and I tried something new (though I can't remember the name). The service was good, pretty fast, and our waiter was attentive and very lovely. The restaurant played Latino music, was pretty empty, and nicely decorated. The Cuban is always a favorite for me.

We decided to try The Cuban for Father's Day, the hostess greeted us immediately, she was friendly and luckily for us it wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. They had live music which was great which made the atmosphere that much more very festive. The service was quick. Our only gripe is that the ribeye was forgotten until essentially the end of the meal, otherwise the food was great however very pricey.

Had another great time at the Cuban. The staff was friendly and the food was good! Just stopped by for apps and drinks. We enjoyed the after party there after the Hispanic cultural heritage parade.

We've been wanting to try this place for a while and it was nice! I had a raspberry caprihlana for a drink. Apps we got the mini Cuban sliders and the grilled octopus. For entrees I had Ropa Vieja( my favorite Cuban dish) he had the Puerco Frito. The best part of the whole meal was the octopus by far. It was grilled perfectly, which is tough to do, and left whole, not cut up in little chunks like some places do. So good! The sliders were decent, but not my favorite- Cubans are my favorite sandwich so I'm a bit critical. They were a little sweet and I would have liked a crispier bread. My dish was decent, but I've had better, it just was a little lackluster in terms of the taste. His was okay, I wasn't crazy about it but he liked it. Drink was well made, not too sweet not too boozy. They have a photographer come around and take photos. I wish they would have told us up front that they're $20/piece. They come back some time later with a selection of framed ones. We got one anyway, but I thought maybe it was for their socials or something, not a sales thing. Service was okay, bf will be the first to say so, and we're both pretty easy going. It was just very rushed and inattentive. We did have a reservation, and we were told the table time limit, which that's fine- but our food literally flew out one after the other. We also were there earlier, 5pm dinner( didn't want to deal with the live music, and sometimes it's nice to eat early!) because we figured it would be before the rush and allow for a more relaxed dinner. That and we had a long day! Inside is nicely decorated, it has a similar vibe to Margaritas in Wantagh- it's the same owners. Overall, I would go back, but maybe during the week or for lunch if we can.
